Definition & Term
A trademark registration certificate is valid for 10 years from the filing date. Before expiry, the owner must renew it to maintain protection and exclusive rights. Renewal applications must be filed within 6 months prior to the expiry date or up to 6 months after expiry (with late renewal fees). Required Documents
- Original Trademark Registration Certificate (or application for re-issuance if lost)
- Copy of the Enterprise Registration Certificate
- Power of Attorney: as per the attached form. here
Procedure
- The National Office of Intellectual Property (IPOVN) examines the application within approximately 8–12 months.
- If the application is valid: IPOVN will issue a decision on renewal, record it in the register, and publish it.
- If the application is invalid: IPOVN will issue a notice of intended refusal, giving the applicant 1 month to amend or oppose.
