There are many reasons why enterprises must carry out procedures for changing information on the Certificate of Code and Barcode Use Right, including:
- Change business information: Businesses can change registration information such as name, address, tax identification number, or other important information that was previously registered.
- Lost the certificate of code and barcode use right: In case the certificate is lost or not found, the enterprise needs to carry out procedures to apply for re-issuance.
- The Certificate of Code and Barcode Use Right expires: The certificate has a certain expiration date, when it expires, enterprises need to carry out procedures to change it to continue using the code and barcode legally.
- Re-issuance of a login account but lost the Certificate: When an enterprise wants to re-issue a login account to manage the code or barcode but no longer has the original Certificate, it is necessary to carry out the procedures for re-issuance of the Certificate.
To carry out the procedures for changing information, enterprises need to prepare all the following documents:
- Official letter on the change of the enterprise registration certificate:
- This official letter should clearly state the reason for the change of information, and at the same time provide details of the changes proposed by the enterprise.
- A copy of the Enterprise Registration Certificate or Establishment Decision:
- This is a copy of a legal document proving the legal existence of the enterprise, which needs to be notarized and valid for 6 months from the date of notarization.
- Certificate of the right to use barcode codes (old):
- If the enterprise still holds the old certificate, it is necessary to submit it together as a basis for changing the information.
- In case the Certificate is lost, the enterprise needs to clearly state this in the official letter for the competent authority to handle.
- Registration for use of barcode codes:
- This is an application form provided by the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality of Vietnam, enterprises need to fill in all newly changed information and submit it with the dossier.

- Enterprises need to gather all the documents as mentioned above, ensure that the copies are duly notarized.
Step 2: Submit the application
- Submisson location: Enterprises can submit dossiers directly or by post to the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality of Vietnam.
- Direct submission: The enterprise brings the dossier to the headquarters of the General Department for submission. When submitting directly, businesses should prepare the originals of the documents for comparison if necessary.
- Submission by post: If choosing this form, the enterprise needs to enclose notarized copies or original copies signed and stamped to ensure legality.
- Processing time: : Within 20 working days from the date of receipt of a valid dossier, the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality of Vietnam will change the information and re-issue the Certificate of the right to use the barcode number.
- Notification of results: In case the dossier does not meet the requirements, the General Department will send a written notice to the enterprise, clearly stating the reason and instructing the necessary steps to complete the dossier.
- Form of receiving results:
- Directly at the headquarters of the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality of Vietnam: Enterprises can come to receive the results directly at the headquarters of the Directorate.
- By post: If you choose this method, the result will be sent to the address registered in the application.
